I Like Your Smell

Music and words Frank Lamphere

(Verse)

An Italian man with limited English skills

On a date, with an American tourist

In a voice oh so suave and manner cavalier

Uttered the following in her ear

(Chorus)

I Like Your Smell

As in a big bowl of spaghetti

I Like Your Smell

More than a plate of cappelletti

The highest compliment from one

Who lives to eat

Those four misspoken words

That leave her as red, as a beet

I Like Your Smell

Said the gent as he slid closer

I Like Your Smell

As refined as a bull dozer

The one phrase that could lead

To a meaningful life-long roman-ce

Or compels her to “Not a chance,

We don’t jell!”

I Like Your Smell

I Like Your Smell

As he wrapped both arms around'er

I Like Your Smell

If he were liquid he'd a drowned'er

The ideal words

To get her to kneel at his feet

And make her heart

Skip-a-beat

Or, say Farewell

I Like Your Smell

"I Like Your Smell" words and music by singer-songwriter Frank Lamphere. Loosly based on a story told by Lamphere's father-in-law Antonio Cammarota. The lyric demonstrates Frank's humor. In the song, a big eating clumsy man (lacking fluency in English), on a date while trying to "get to first base" innocently utters the title phrase in his date's ear. What was the effect? Was she appalled or did she feel complimented? The song asks these questions.

This could be an ideal song for a perfume commercial. Also any type of food product with a strong aroma. The recording swings and will bring to mind Louis Prima - Sam Butera.
